  • Ouch...

I just looked through the requirements for the Bachelor of Design in Animation education over at HKU's facility in Hilversum. Here's what I found out:

  • 1 Out of 8 applicants gets accepted.
  • When you apply, you have to complete creative assignments which are going to be judged at the facility by a special comission.
  • The assignments are hard, and I need to work on my creative skills until then a lot more than I thought.
  • I'm scared now.
  • This is going to be hard, but not impossible. I'm just going to have to spend a lot more time into developing my creative skills and portfolio, and try harder at school to keep up with my current tempo.

Wish me luck the next few years, they're going to be hard...

    Hell Above The Ground

Yet another announcement! I'm going into the short film business! Well... not officially, as amature YouTube/Vimeo videos are as far as I can go at the moment, but still! Yay!

The first upcoming movie will be a shortfilm for school, called "Hell Above The Ground" based on the song Hell Above The Water by Curve (which is also going to be used in the short film).

It's about a young rebel celebrating a typical Dutch New Years Eve (with loads of fireworks). But at some point in the movie, an accident happens...

It's filmed with actual professional fireworks and an actual accident! I'm using footage from last New Years Eve, combined with new footage I will be shooting especially for this project.

During the accident with a 1,5" aerial shell, nobody actually got hurt. But I'm going to change that in the short film. ;)

I will post a preview soon! Expect the project to be finished late in April. I'm not going to rush it, as I have a very social deadline for this one. :)

Make sure to tune in every once in a while, because more updates will follow!

    Roger, will go!

    Good evening!

So... you guys are aware of the fact I'm behind with school right? If not, you are now! :| I've discussed the matter with a teacher, an assistant my parents hired, and my dad. We've come to the conclusion that taking it easy would be the best for now. :)

What does that mean? High School is going to take me 1 more year to finish it. Rushing to get everything done in time leaves me with a lot of frustration, stress and bad grades. So we've come to an agreement: I get an extra year!

This might sound horrible to some. But to me, it's perfect! I get enough time for my music classes and theory, enough time for my art and the interweb and enough time for me to game without having to worry about school. I work hard in classes (I don't chat at all), and I even use my lunch breaks for schoolwork, so if I'd just keep this up I'll be fine.

So yeah, needless to say that I'm in a very good mood today. At the moment I'm in the process of updating the website with new content and will continue to do so tomorrow. Because, you know... I finally have some time on my hands now. :)

    INCOMING!!! Update...

    Hey guys!

Okay... It's been a while, hasn't it (nearly 3 months)? I kinda disappointed myself by not updating this site anymore. I've wanted it for so long, and now I have it I neglect it.

It's not like I have no excuse whatsoever though... I mean, I have a pretty tight schedule. No seriously, I'm behind with school, raiding guild in WoW is quite demanding (time wise) and I try to fit drawing practice in the rest of the spare time I have left.

Anyway, I'm going to start updating this site again. Don't expect too much, but it at least won't be as dead as it's been the last 3 months.

Especially the Art and Video parts of the site need some serious updating. I'll try to get to it and quite possibly a layout change too, but that will probably have to wait 'till spring break due to an obvious lack of time.
